conwy-denise-idris-jones.jpgBorn in 1950 in Rhosllanerchrugog, near Wrexham, Denise was elected to the Assembly in May 2003. Educated at Liverpool University, in English and French, Denise previously worked on Harold Wilson’s campaign. Denise is a fluent Welsh Speaker, and taught English and French at Grango School, Rhos, for around 30 years.

Denise has served on the Assembly’s Culture, Welsh Language & Sport Committee; the Education & Lifelong Learning Committee; the Audit Committee and the North Wales Regional Committee.

She is married, with two sons and has a special interest in Education and the Welsh Language.
